Emmy Awards 2024: A Night to Remember
The moment we’ve all been waiting for is finally here! The 76th Emmy Awards are set to commence at 8 p.m. Eastern time at the prestigious Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. This year’s ceremony will be broadcast live on ABC, bringing the glitz and glamour of television’s biggest night directly to your living room. The evening will be hosted by the beloved father-son duo, Eugene and Dan Levy, known for their exceptional work on the hit series “Schitt’s Creek.”
Due to last year’s writers’ and actors’ strikes, this marks the second Emmy ceremony of 2024, with the first having occurred in January after a delay from its originally scheduled date in September.
This year, “The Bear” stands out in the comedy category, leading the pack with a remarkable 23 nominations. This achievement not only highlights the show’s immense popularity but also sets a new record for comedy nominations, surpassing the previous record of 15 years held by “30 Rock.” It’s important to note that these nominations pertain to Season 2 of “The Bear,” as Season 3 was released this past summer. In the drama category, “Shogun” has emerged as the frontrunner with the most nominations.
Newcomers to the Emmy scene, such as “Palm Royale” and “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” along with the limited series “Baby Reindeer,” are also in contention for multiple awards this evening, promising an exciting night of surprises.
At the Creative Arts Emmys held last weekend, the talented songwriting duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul achieved EGOT status, a prestigious honor that signifies winning an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. They secured their place in history by taking home the award for outstanding original music and lyrics for their song “Which of the Pickwick Triplets Did It?” from the popular series “Only Murders in the Building.”
Here are the Emmy winners announced so far:
- Best Comedy Guest Actress: Jamie Lee Curtis for her role in “The Bear.”
