The Formula 1 season has gotten even more exciting since the summer break, thanks to McLaren’s incredible performance and the unpredictability of each race, where different drivers step into the spotlight. Last week, McLaren took the lead in the constructors’ championship, and fans were eager to see how they’d perform this week, along with expectations for Max Verstappen and Ferrari’s pace.
Though the race began with a somewhat uneventful DRS train, strategies soon came into play, allowing McLaren to keep climbing. By the end, Lando Norris secured 1st place, and Oscar Piastri took 3rd, making for a strong McLaren finish. The only thing stopping a McLaren double podium? Max Verstappen, who finished 2nd.
A Clean and Unpredictable Race in Singapore
Known for being a narrow street circuit and challenging due to its night setting, it was expected that yellow flags and safety cars would play a major role. However, it turned out to be one of the cleanest Singapore races in recent years, with no such interruptions.
The final standings saw George Russell in 4th, Charles Leclerc in 5th, and Lewis Hamilton in 6th. Meanwhile, Sainz, Alonso, Hulkenberg, and Perez rounded out the top 10, while Magnussen and Albon couldn’t finish the race.
As we look ahead to the next race in the United States, happening from October 18-20, it’ll be interesting to see how teams use this nearly month-long break to make improvements.
My thoughts? McLaren’s rise has been thrilling to watch! They’re clearly on fire, and if they can maintain this momentum, the championship race will only get more exciting. All eyes are on them and Verstappen heading into the US GP!
