Turkey’s renowned TEKNOFEST, a pivotal event in promoting national technology, is set to take place at Adana Airport, gathering aviation, space, and technology enthusiasts. The festival will feature a range of activities including technology competitions, aerial displays, science shows, educational workshops, and exhibitions.
A Unique Experience: “In the Footsteps of Victory”
For the first time, TEKNOFEST will host the “In the Footsteps of Victory: Gallipoli Digital Experience Area,” allowing participants to immerse themselves in the “Gallipoli spirit.” The digital experience will recreate the trenches where Turkish soldiers bravely defended against enemy attacks during the Gallipoli Campaign, utilizing digital mapping techniques and thematic decor.
Participants will experience a realistic simulation of enemy bombardments and the sound of low-flying combat aircraft, all brought to life through visual and sound design. Those who successfully navigate the trench experience will find themselves in a section themed around “Fully Independent Turkey,” showcasing today’s technological advancements.
A Testament to Growing Interest in Science and Technology
Muhammet Saymaz, the Secretary-General of TEKNOFEST, highlighted the event’s growth, noting that 790,000 teams participated in competitions across 50 main categories this year. He remarked, “In our first year, 20,000 competitors joined us. This year, we have seen an impressive rise to 1.65 million participants. TEKNOFEST is a significant indicator of the growing interest in science and technology within our society.”
Saymaz recalled the Combat UAV Competition, held in Adana, which has also seen remarkable achievements this year. “In the inaugural year of the Combat UAV Competition, only five teams could compete in the skies. This year, 23 teams participated, and for the first time, a team successfully completed their mission.”
Highlighting Technological Innovation
TEKNOFEST continues to innovate with attractions like the Digital Universe Area, TEKNOFEST Timeline, TEKNOFEST Champions League, and the Gallipoli Digital Experience Area. Saymaz emphasized that the Gallipoli experience area aims to provide visitors with a unique frontline experience while underscoring the importance of technology.
“This will be a space where our youth and citizens can live and experience the Gallipoli spirit,” he stated, adding that participants who excel in various competitions will compete in the Champions League.
